We ask that you adhere to the following policies. Due to the unusual and delicate nature of our house and our original, period antiques, we have policies that must be imposed. We do hope you understand-- we want your stay to be an extraordinary experience. At the same time, please help up protect the best interest of the house and its contents. Appropriate state and local taxes will be applied.
If the house is booked at a time you would like to reserve the house, please ask the innkeeper to put your name on a cancellation list.
The William Haskell House is a private residence. The use of our home is for the exclusive use of registered guests only. Others are not allowed use of the house, nor property. Out of respect for the privacy of the owners, drop by inquiries cannot be accepted. Booking a reservation means you have read accommodation expectations and our policies and agree to adhere to them.
Check in is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Special arrangements may be made for early or late check in. If you plan to arrive after 6 p.m., please contact the innkeeper, so we can make arrangements for your arrival. Check out is at 11 a.m.
We have an extremely delicate bio-filter septic system and must be very careful as to what goes in the system. No oils of any kind can be used. No personal hygiene products can be placed in toilet. We ask that you use the soap and shampoo that are provided. Unfortunately, we must use septic system safe products.
Smoking is not allowed inside or near the house. For guests who smoke, we have a covered designated smoking area. Ask innkeeper for details.
No candles or flames of any kind may be used in your bedrooms. For the ambiance of a candle, battery operated candles are provided. Candles in the parlor or in the hall may be used only at the innkeepers discretion and oversite. By advance request, you may ask the innkeeper to build a fire in the parlor or in the original kitchen. The innkeeper will determine the time the last log goes on the fire and when the protective screen is put in place. For your safety and for your warmth and comfort, we do not allow fires in the bedrooms.
Our home and antiques are not designed with children in mind. Children are welcome ONLY by advance special arrangement with the innkeeper. Well-behaved children 16 and older are welcome in the company of adult guests. For exceptions to this policy, please consult the innkeeper.
Although we are lovers of animals, we are sorry that we cannot accept pets. We would be happy to assist you in finding a nearby, suitable lodging facility for your pet.
We are sorry, but due to the historic nature of the house, we are not handicap accessible.
Should you want to give the gift of experiencing life in the 17th century, gift certificates are available. We only accept gift certificates issued directly from our facility and not from any B & B websites. Gift certificates may be redeemed up to one year from the date of purchase. Our cancellation policy applies.
